Tucked away among Colorado’s rolling hills, Backvint® was born from a passion for sustainable fashion and a commitment to protecting our planet. The brand’s founder, Ethan Tan—a Singaporean American who studied at Stanford University in California—spent years immersed in the world of music-inspired fashion at Hot Topic. During that time, Ethan discovered that true style isn’t just about how a garment looks, but about its journey and impact on the Earth.
Starting in his small backyard garage, Ethan carefully sourced and curated each vintage piece—from well-loved tees to timeworn denim—and breathed new life into them as one-of-a-kind treasures. Backvint®—short for “Back to Vintage”—was created to inspire responsible consumption: “Every time you wear our pieces, you’re helping to protect the planet.”
In just three years, Backvint® has grown far beyond its humble beginnings. We have fulfilled over 100,000 orders, packaging more than 100 vintage parcels daily for customers across the United States and in over 30 countries worldwide. Each shipment includes a handwritten thank-you note and care instructions, a heartfelt gesture to our community of fellow sustainable-fashion advocates.
